Dr Miten Ruparelia, Clinical Vice Chair

Dr Miten Ruparelia has been a partner at Woodsend Medical Centre since 2007 and was elected as Chair of Nene CCG’s Corby locality in 2008. He worked as Corby's locality lead and Nene's commissioning director until April 2011. He is currently Clinical Vice-Chair of NHS Corby CCG where he leads on contracting and urgent care and is part of the CCG executive team.

Miten studied at MGM Medical College in Mumbai, qualifying in August 2001, and was the General Secretary of his university for 3 years. He came to the UK in March 2002 and did his initial training at Leicester Royal Infirmary and GP training in the North East of England. Dr Ruperalia's interest in commissioning was born during his GP training and as a registrar he successfully worked on developing a community DVT pathway with the local PCT.

Miten also works one day a week with the national Emergency care improvement programme as a clinical lead.

He has two daughters, Deeya and Anya, and his interest in cricket and the Ferrari F1 team continues to grow.
